You use the Hide Variables dialog box to specify that individual variables are to be hidden from view. The dialog box lists all of the variables in the current data set. Select the check box beside a variable to indicate that it should be hidden. Deselect the check box to indicate that a hidden variable should no longer be hidden.

From the menu, choose Variables > Hide Variables.

This option enables you to set rules that to hide specific types of variables, such as coding variables.
