Question List panel
The Question List Panel provides a visual location reference for the active survey. Refer to the Question List Panel to confirm that the proper survey responses are keyed into the correct variables.
To edit previous responses, see Editing previous entries.
To configure the Question List Panel, see Configuring views in the Question List panel.
Navigating the Question List panel
The Question List panel organizes previous entry information in a spreadsheet format with rows and columns.
Rows in the Question List panel
Each row represents an entry for a variable. For questions that use grids, each subject of the grid is a separate variable and is displayed as a unique row within the Question List Panel.
The panel’s rows can be navigated by mouse using the scroll bar at the right side of the panel. Scrolling upward moves the panel toward earlier entries; scrolling downward moves the panel toward later entries. To navigate the rows using the keyboard, use Ctrl+Shift+Tab to highlight the Question List Panel. Once the panel is selected, the panel highlights an individual row. Use the arrow keys to move up and down among the rows to view prior entries. Moving the rows upward displays earlier entries; moving rows downward displays later entries. The rows might also be navigated using Previous and Next from the Entry Panel. For more information, see Entry panel.
The Question List Panel displays only entries and variables that appear in the survey before the current response being keyed. Variables that come after the current response do not appear in the panel until they have been keyed. Variables that are skipped as a result of an IF...GOTO sequence are not displayed in the Question List Panel, unless their values are automatically filled and the survey author specifies that they be displayed.
Columns in the Question List panel
The Question List Panel includes the following columns that provide information for each entry:
variable name
question text
operator entry
response code (when applicable).
When entering single or multiple categorical responses, the Operator Entry column displays the entered response text and the Response Code column displays the entered keycodes. For all other question types (for example, numeric or text) the Operator Entry column displays the keyed response and the Response Code column remains blank.
Viewing longer text in cells
If the cell text exceeds the cell size, the Question List Panel displays the text in its entirety when you move the mouse over the cell.
