Redistribution of UNICOM Systems, Inc. components
If you develop and distribute applications that use any of the components of the UNICOM Intelligence Data Model (see
Default location for DLLs) or any other UNICOM Intelligence product, you should not include any of the UNICOM Intelligence components in your installation package.
The UNICOM Intelligence Data Model and other UNICOM Intelligence components may be shared by numerous applications in the user's environment and including the components in your installation may overwrite existing versions of the components in the user's environment. This is particularly likely to cause problems when the user is using later versions of the components or subsequently upgrades to a later version of the UNICOM Intelligence Data Model or other UNICOM Intelligence product.
The UNICOM Intelligence Data Model and other UNICOM Intelligence products and their components are not freely redistributable and all users need appropriate licensing. However, this is easy to arrange either directly with the end user or through a redistribution agreement with UNICOM Systems, Inc.
UNICOM Systems, Inc. provides a standalone UNICOM Intelligence Data Model install kit, which ensures that all of the its components are installed and registered correctly. Under normal circumstances and subject to appropriate licensing, this is the method you should use to distribute the UNICOM Intelligence Data Model.
If you use the Package Wizard that comes with Visual Studio, you must explicitly exclude the UNICOM Systems, Inc. components.
