Overview of IBM InfoSphere CDC replication between solidDB® servers
IBM InfoSphere Change Data Capture (IBM InfoSphere CDC) technology can be used to implement asynchronous replication between any pair of solidDB® servers. IBM InfoSphere CDC technology is based on an asynchronous push model. Unidirectional subscriptions can be created for real time propagation of data changes from the source side to the target side. Bidirectional capability is achieved by setting up two subscriptions with mirrored source and target definitions.
The term “IBM InfoSphere CDC replication” is used to refer to replication models which use the IBM InfoSphere CDC technology to synchronize data between solidDB® servers. The same technology is used with the Universal Cache capability to setup a solidDB® frontend cache that speeds up access to performance critical data stored in other enterprise database servers such as DB2, Informix, or Oracle.
