IBM InfoSphere CDC technology can be used to implement various types of solidDB^®-to-solidDB^® replication models.

Other implementations are also possible: for example, IBM InfoSphere CDC technology can be used to implement geographic redundancy, configurations with two or more sites, active-active scenarios, and topologies with multiple secondaries.

The IBM InfoSphere CDC Replication can also be used with solidDB^® HotStandby (HSB).

The following guidelines can be used when designing replication models:

▪IBM InfoSphere CDC for solidDB^® and the solidDB^® database do not have to be collocated.

▪When solidDB^® HSB pair is used, the corresponding IBM InfoSphere CDC instance must be located on a different node.

▪When considering overall system availability, remember to plan how you will manage IBM InfoSphere CDC failures, as described in IBM InfoSphere CDC replication failure scenarios.

▪Tooling (Management Console) should always run on a separate node.
