Replication with Infosphere CDC : Overview of IBM InfoSphere CDC replication between solidDB® servers : Configurations

Configurations
IBM InfoSphere CDC technology can be used to implement various types of solidDB®-to-solidDB® replication models.
For an example of a deployment topology, see Architectural overview of IBM InfoSphere CDC Replication.
Other implementations are also possible: for example, IBM InfoSphere CDC technology can be used to implement geographic redundancy, configurations with two or more sites, active-active scenarios, and topologies with multiple secondaries.
The IBM InfoSphere CDC Replication can also be used with solidDB® HotStandby (HSB).
The following guidelines can be used when designing replication models:
IBM InfoSphere CDC for solidDB® and the solidDB® database do not have to be collocated.
When solidDB® HSB pair is used, the corresponding IBM InfoSphere CDC instance must be located on a different node.
When considering overall system availability, remember to plan how you will manage IBM InfoSphere CDC failures, as described in IBM InfoSphere CDC replication failure scenarios.
Tooling (Management Console) should always run on a separate node.
