The ability of a business to “do stuff” – more formally, an ability that a business possesses or exchanges to achieve a particular purpose.

TOGAF provides Business Capability as a lower-level and more delineated definition than the higher-level Capability definition – which is aligned with Work Packages.

Business Capability was introduced into the TOGAF specification with TOGAF 9.2. Prior versions of TOGAF only had Capability.
