Overview
With a roadmap diagram you can:
model different item types
specify dates
specify state information; this can be presented as colored segments within milestones
model dependencies
present a timeline chart based upon the model.
The basic model structure is of a project with milestones, and dependencies can exist between milestones. Projects can be configured as to whether they exist prior to the first and after the last milestones referenced.
Colors of phases between milestones can be configured.
A key can be presented explaining the meaning of all the segments, their colors and the phase colors.
A time bar defines the size of the diagram, and this can be presented on each project symbol.
