Working with the Apply Rank Macro
When you export data, prioritize it in Focal Point®, and import back to System Architect, the Rank property of the Application definition is updated accordingly. The ranking is applied by the Apply Rank.mac macro, in:
C:\Program Files\UNICOM Systems\System Architect Suite\version\System Architect\Focal Point
You can use the macro as is, or make a copy of it and modify your copy to suit your needs. The macro extracts the Rank values from all Application definitions in all `System Architecture diagrams in the encyclopedia. It then groups the definitions based on their rank, and colors the symbols according to colors that are defined by each of the Associated Analytics for the group. For example, the “Top Ranked” symbols are colored green, “Middle Ranked” are yellow, and so on. You can change those color values by editing the Associated Analytics individually.
The ranking values applied are 1, 2, 3, or 4. The splitting range is decided by evaluating the maximum and minimum rank values. The logic used is that all the ranks in System Architecture diagrams are divided into 3 ranges or approximately 33%. However, but the rank colors are only applied on currently opened diagram.
