Generating reports across workspaces
Generating reports across workspaces is the same as generating reports for a single encyclopedia. The main difference is that you select two data sources for one report, where each data source corresponds to an encyclopedia workspace.
The prerequisites for generating reports across workspaces are as follows: for live reports through the System Architect REST Service, you should obtain the workspaces ID, so you can set the URI for each data source (see Obtaining the encyclopedia workspace ID). For offline reports, you need the path and name of the flattened XML file that was generated from the Report Server Manager (for example Samples.XML).
Note The instructions below walk you through creating a report through the System Architect REST service, but you can also follow them to create the report from offline, flattened XML files.
1 Follow the steps in Creating report templates.
2 Follow the steps in the Adding content to report templates.
3 Repeat these steps to add a second data source. Having two data sources enables you to create a single report that gets data from each of the data sources.
4 Follow the steps in Generating reports.
