1 On the SAEM window, click Server, and then click Connect.
2 Click Available SQL Servers, and then select a server. Although the list might display multiple servers on the network, you can only connect to those server which you've been enabled to access.
3 Select an Authentication method:
Windows NT: Uses the same username and password with which you logged onto Windows.
SQL Server: Some SQL Servers environments might require that in addition to your Windows NT login, you provide separate SQL Server username and password.
4 Click Save connection information for SAEM to remember the server and authentication method you chose to login. See the Connections tab to connect automatically when you start SAEM.
5 Click Login.
The SAEM window status bar displays the server you are connected to, the SQL Server or SQL Express instance you are connected to, and your domain and user name.
