The System Architect Property Configuration dialog enables you to select the diagrams and definition properties that will be available during any session. This dialog is displayed whenever you start a new encyclopedia, so that you can toggle the check boxes to select the diagram types and target languages that will appear in that encyclopedia.
There is a Default Framework setting that can be used to set the default framework selection for new encyclopedias. If this is not set then the programmed default will be used.
There is an Apply changes to all future encyclopedias check box. If this is ticked when OK is pressed, the defaults for the ‘none’ framework selection are changed and the Default Framework setting in the user’s ini setting is cleared so that the ‘none’ framework setting will be used. If this setting is in the mst file however then that remains unchanged and takes precedence over the user’s ini setting.
To change the property configuration of an encyclopedia
1 Click Tools > Customize Method Support > Encyclopedia Configuration. The System Architect Property Configuration dialog appears.
2 Select the methodologies that you want to work with.
3 If you want to work with a target language for code generation, select one (or more) from C++, Java, Visual Basic, CORBA IDL, and other supported languages. You can also select None.
4 Select one or more target database property sets. You can also select None.
A database property set is not required for logical data modeling with Entity Relation models. It is required for modeling with a physical data model; however, the choice of database can be selected when creating the physical model. (See also Default DBMS type.)
5 Click OK.
6 Reopen the encyclopedia for the changes to take effect.
