Tools menu: Merge
Back up the target encyclopedia prior to using this command.
The Encyclopedia Merge and Tools menu: Extract commands are ordinarily used in projects where several analysts work more or less in isolation, and where their efforts must be periodically combined or merged into one master encyclopedia.
The Encyclopedia Merge command is used to select diagrams and/or data dictionary items from a project encyclopedia other than the current one, and to merge them into the current one. Thus, your current encyclopedia will get larger, with new data being added to the old.
The source of the merge must be a different encyclopedia.
A complete backup of the current encyclopedia should be made prior to the merge.
You can produce an action item file from the contents of an Explorer View. Both Static and Dynamic views are supported, and you can choose whether subordinate definitions and child diagrams are to be included.
