Views
A View is a definition; you can see it in under the Definitions node in the Classic Explorer and Explorer. When you create a new View, you must specify if the View will be a Static View or a Dynamic View. The default is Static. The two types of Views have different icons in the Explorer, as shown in the picture above.
Static views
Static views are item-based and can contain other definitions. To populate static views, open at least two Explorers at the same time, and then drag artifacts into the view.
See also Creating a static view.
Dynamic views
A dynamic view is report-based. It runs one or more reports that you have specified in the view definition whenever you expand a folder in the view. You can refresh a view by pressing F5, or by right‑clicking, and selecting Refresh.
Turning on Auto-Refresh can have adverse effects on performance.
Dynamic views can also be nested; however, the reports are only displayed in the view where the dynamic view definition was created.
