Adding definitions to an encyclopedia
System Architect offers several ways to add a definition to an encyclopedia. You may add one definition at a time or add multiple definitions of a particular type in one function. Definitions may be added through the following ways:
Add a definition to a symbol drawn on a diagram. To open the symbol’s definition dialog, either double-click the symbol; right-click the symbol and then click Edit; or select the symbol and choose the symbol’s name from the Edit menu.
Add a definition through the Explorer: see Adding a definition through the Explorer.
Click Dictionary > New Definition. This command will open an Add Definition dialog, and also open the Explorer if it is closed.
Import through Text or CSV Format: The Dictionary menu: Import Definitions, which enables you to add multiple definitions of the same type by importing them into the project encyclopedia from various sources (that is, Word documents, Excel projects, etc) through text or comma separated value (csv) format.
Import through XML: From the Explorer, right‑click the diagram or definition, and then click XML interface.
Select Tools > Merge to import diagrams and definitions from another encyclopedia. See also Tools menu: Merge.
