Dialer Administration
You use the Dialer Administration activity to allow your telephone interviewing projects to use an autodialer. An autodialer is a computer that automatically dials the phone numbers of participants to generate calls for interviewers. Your call center might use one or more autodialers.
UNICOM Intelligence supports third‑party dialers such as the InVADE, Marketing Systems Group Pro-T-S, Sytel, and IBM SPSS Dialers. For more information about how UNICOM Intelligence Interviewer interfaces with an autodialer, see Dialer Interface component.
Using an autodialer involves the following steps:
1 Creating a dialer configuration file, which contains one entry for each autodialer and one entry for each station that will use an autodialer.
2 Importing a dialer configuration file into the Dialer Administration activity.
3 Inputting a position name on each station (see Setting up stations to use an autodialer), which will allow the autodialer to identify the station.
4 Connecting to the autodialer (see Connecting to and disconnecting from an autodialer), so that it can generate calls for interviewers.
You can also use the Dialer Administration activity to monitor the number of active calls on each autodialer and to disconnect from an autodialer.
To use an autodialer, you must also specify for each of your telephone interviewing projects that an autodialer should be used. For more information, see Interview Settings.
