Editing a case-in-progress
Survey data can be edited while a survey is being keyed, but not yet completed.
Selecting a variable
While keying a survey in the Data Entry Player, you can navigate the Question List Panel to locate and edit prior entries. For more information, see Navigating the Question List panel. Highlight the row for the variable that requires editing.
When the proper row is highlighted in the Question List Panel, the Data Entry Player displays the variable’s information in the Entry, Question Text, and Response List (if applicable) panels. The previously keyed entry is visible in the Entry Panel.
Editing a variable
The existing entry can be cleared by using the Backspace or Delete keys in the Entry Panel. Once the incorrect entry is cleared, you can re-key in the same way as entering an un-keyed response.
Continuing entry
When editing is complete, you can return to the next available (un-keyed) variable in the entry sequence: click Jump in the Entry area, or press Alt+J or Ctrl+Page Down.
Once Jump is selected, the Data Entry Player displays the next available variable’s information in the Entry, Question Text, and Response List (if applicable) panels. The Entry field is blank in preparation for the new entry.
For more information, see Entry panel.
Behavior with survey logic
Editing a previous entry might cause the Question List Panel to change other responses. This is typically the result of survey logic that was implemented by the survey author. For more information, see Editing and survey logic.
