DISPLAY subcommand
Three subcommands are used within the SETTING command to specify the defaults for directing the output of the report:
SETTING { DISPLAY [ YES | NO ]
PRINT [ YES | NO ]
ASCIIFILE file-name }
Note For details on the other DISPLAY subcommands, see PRINT subcommand and ASCIIFILE subcommand.
The DISPLAY subcommand is followed by either yes (the default) or no. This subcommand causes an unformatted report to be displayed on the screen for review purposes. Unnecessary lines and formatting are removed when the output is directed to the screen. The Print command must be used to obtain a formatted printout.
Note The DISPLAY subcommand can only be placed in a report in text mode. For more information, see Edit <report name> – Text Mode dialog. This function is not supported by the Report Editor.
Print command
The Print command, invoked from the Report menu, is used to run the selected report and direct the formatted output to the printer. When this command is invoked, the Print <report name> dialog appears (see Choices for printing a report).
